Dealer Vehicle Registration System (DVRS), a historic initiative for the elimination of bogus and non-registered vehicles in the province, has registered 5,000 vehicles so far. The new system is helping reduce late registration of vehicles and evasion of government tax on vehicles. Furthermore it significantly minimizes the usage of vehicles with forged number plates in acts of terrorism.

DG e-Governance, Sajid Latif, hosted a video conference to take on board all the universities where PITB will be setting up e-Rozgaar centers. We are excited to kick start this program as it aims at training the youth and giving them a platform to acquire and apply their freelancing skills and fetch respectable career opportunities, online. Under this program, PITB will be setting up 40 co-working spaces in 36 districts of Punjab to train 10,000 freelancers.

Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB)'s state of the art Citizen Contact Center (CCC) is alive 24/7 servicing citizens across Punjab. CCC facilitates multiple departments in citizen engagement, disseminating information and receiving feedback. Manned by highly trained agents, CCC ensures immediate response to citizens' queries. CCC helpline for PWD is operational from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm six days a week. It aims at increasing citizen awareness about family planning practices and the adverse consequences of rapid population growth. In addition it also receives complaints and suggestions of citizens.

A successful Training session was conducted on Traffic Reforms Application & Traffic Advisory SMS Alert Service developed by Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) for PSCA (Punjab Safe City Authority) staff and the deployment of service at PPIC3 (Punjab Police Integrated Command and Control Center). The real-time traffic updates through Mobile Handsets from CTPL (City Traffic Police Lahore) Sector In-charges are made readily available to PSCA (Punjab Safe City Authority) staff & Traffic Police Lahore to enable efficient management of traffic and to deal with all current and upcoming critical situations. The Traffic Advisory SMS Alert Service, which sends SMS's to general public in order to update them with latest traffic alerts, as well as general informatory and safety messages. This is yet another IT intervention by PITB to enable smooth service delivery for the general public.

The Government of Punjab, in collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has revolutionised the stamp paper system by introducing the e-Stamping Program. Under this program stamp papers can be procured electronically and the process hardly takes fifteen minutes. The citizen is then sent a verification text message to eliminate the possibility of fraud. e-Stamping aims at both curbing corruption in the stamp paper system and making the process more efficient and convenient for citizens.

Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif visited Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) today for the rollout ceremony of e-Stamping Punjab. The event was also attended by other dignitaries including the Chief Secretary Punjab, the Minister for Revenue Punjab and the Sr. Member Board of Revenue, as well as a large contingent of media representatives.
The opening note was delivered by Chairman PITB and Advisor to the CM, Dr. Umar Saif who thanked the CM for his unwavering support and appreciated the efforts of the e-Stamping team. The CM distributed shields among the members of the e-Stamping team and gave the concluding speech in which he spoke about the advantages e-Stamping project would bring to the common man. Under the supervision of DIG-IT Sindh, Sultan Khawaja and Director IT, Tabasum Abid, a digitization lab has been established to create the Criminal Record Management System (CRMS), Sindh. PITB Software team will provide the technical support to carry out the entire digitization process.

Training sessions regarding Judicial e-Stamp paper launching was held in various Districts of Punjab. The sessions were attended by all relevant stakeholders. e-Stamping team expressed special gratitude to Audience for all the arrangements and efforts while the session was quite consultative and informative for the attendees. PITB team explained e-Stamping process flow regarding Judicial e-Stamp paper issuance to the audience. e-Stamping system for Non-Judicial e-Stamp papers have already been operational in all 36 districts of the Punjab from 26th October 2016.
The team is all set to launch Judicial e-Stamp Papers by tomorrow 23rd December 2016 in all 36 Districts of Punjab.

CM Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif, visited Arfa Software Technology Park (ASTP) to inaugurate Punjab's first ever, state-of-the-art Data Centre established by PITB. The data centre also houses the Land Record Management Information System (LRMIS). He visited the Data Centre facility where Chairman PITB, Dr. Umar Saif, briefed him about the benefits of the Data Center. Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif presented a souvenir to Dr. Saif in recognition of his efforts in overseeing the launch of LRMIS. "I'm thankful to PITB and Dr. Umar Saif in particular for his contributions which have made LRMIS possible," said CM Punjab.

Team PITB visited three schools in Kasur for piloting of the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) Application developed by PITB. Students at government schools get a stipend and are rewarded on the basis of attendance (i.e. students with 80% or greater attendance) but it was being difficult for teachers to manage and maintain student attendance and tallies. With this application not only the maintenance and registration would be eased by it shall also prevent chances of forgery hence ensuring fair stipend distribution.
After the successful pilot project, the application will be implemented across all government schools of Punjab from January 01, 2017.

Talking as a keynote speaker at the international Tech Conference 2016 jointly organized by MIT and USAID in USA, VC Information Technology University (ITU) cum Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Dr Umar Saif, stated that due to the technology platform, Punjab’s immunization coverage has risen from 15% to 88% in the past 20 months and the same program is being replicated in the other parts of Pakistan.

Keeping in mind the need of hour and future, Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) is facilitating the government officials by providing capacity building. With this aim, a Basic IT Skills training program has been initiated to enhance the understanding of IT products which can facilitate the officials in their day to day activities and boost their confidence to use IT; thus increasing their efficiency and productivity.
In continuation to this, 35th Batch of officials from different governmental departments was provided a 2 week training, focusing on the basic concepts of word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and general IT skills.
On the last day of this session, certificate distribution ceremony was held where Syed Nayyer Ali (Senior Program Manager) graced the occasion as the chief guest and distributed the certificates among the participants. Further, he appreciated their participation while encouraging them to continue serving with passion and commitment.

Smart Lab and Multimedia Classrooms were inaugurated by the Minister of Education Punjab, Rana Mashood, today. While visiting the multimedia classrooms and smart lab, he said that the introduction of digital content has discouraged the culture of rote-learning (ratta).
In these modernized classrooms trained teachers will use digital content having videos, animations, simulations and assessments to facilitate self-learning. Secretary Schools, Abdul Jabbar Shaheen, said this initiative was a part of pilot implementation of eLearn.Punjab . A lab of 50 tablets is being established for the designated school where students would be able to access the digital content. Moreover, monthly tests of students will also be conducted at the lab and the dashboards will display results online and in real time. Around 600+ students will be benefit from this project whereas parents wholeheartedly welcomed the initiative. Rana Mashood also inaugurated Kids lab for nursery group students.

Untiring efforts of team PITB continues throughout the week in different districts of Punjab. PITB team is in Islamabad to sensitize the concerned authorities and to develop coordinated efforts and activities on Dengue outbreak currently faced by the capital city using PITB's time tested Dengue Information Portals and Tracking System.
Moreover, trainers from PITB delivered training to 9,364 participants across seven districts regarding the mobile app developed for health workers to report polio activities on the move. The participants included EDO (health), DDOH, union council medical officers, area in-charges and polio field teams.

With the issuance of first e-Stamp papers in Sahiwal, Okara and Pakpattan, e-Stamping has now been rolled out across Punjab; operational in all 36 districts.
The online sale and purchase of the high value non-judicial stamp papers will eliminate the mafia committing frauds by issuing bogus papers particularly in business deals all over the province. Electronic stamping has replaced the previous system making verification of stamp papers being genuine or fake has been made possible, which has consequently rescued the government from bearing huge losses to the national exchequer.

19th cohort of Leadership Development Program, LEAD Pakistan, visited PITB today. The cohort visited PITB to get a thorough exposure of PITB’s IT-based governance solutions and Innovation Center. PD (PPMRP) Salman Amin and Director (Software Engineering), Adil Iqbal Khan gave a presentation on PITB’s prominent ICT ventures including evolution, progress and outcomes of e-Stamping, which has now been implemented across Punjab.

|Oct 25, 2016||Punjab IT Policy 2016: 3rd Roundtable Conference
PITB in collaboration with TechHub Connect hosted the biggest IT event of Pakistan – The third IT Round Table Conference at ASTP on October 25, 2016 (Tuesday). The conference, enthusiastically attended by more than 150 IT companies alongside P@SHA, was spearheaded by Chairman PITB, Dr Umar Saif to finalize the IT policy of Punjab. Dr Saif stated that more than 150 brilliant minds had contributed to the preparation of the draft of Punjab IT Policy 2016 while the draft has been formulated after diligent review of the policy documents from more than 25 different countries. More than 50 consultative meetings during the process to seek input from specialists especially in the case of emerging disciplines such as IoT, Big Data, Cloud Computing etc., he added.
He elaborated that the policy outlines four components viz. regulation, budget allocation, promotion of the IT sector and empowerment of citizens through digital development. “We want the government to treat connectivity as it treats utilities,” said Dr Umar Saif and that their mission is to enable internet access and reduce digital divide in Punjab. He further informed that a ‘Right of Way Policy’ has also been introduced in the policy while digital financial inclusion is a prominent goal of the IT Policy 2016. The discussion also reviewed progress made on key issues since the 2nd Roundtable held in May 2015. Dr Saif was pleased to announce that the government was partnering with more than 100 local vendors, which is a good omen.
Dr Saif emphasized on the need of an IT census that would be conducted with the assistance of P@SHA, promising that the IT census will be underway by the next time they all assemble. Later, the forum was opened for questions, comments and suggestions while the participants engaged in an enthusiastic round of Q/A.
All the participants acknowledged the hard work of Dr Umar Saif and TechHub Connect to have come up with an IT Policy while President P@SHA, Jehan Ara, thanked Dr Umar Saif for taking the lead and hoped other provinces drew inspiration from the example set high.
Director Entrepreneurship, Nabeel A. Qadeer and Program Manager, Sarah Tariq Gilani deserve a special mention and praises for arranging such a wonderful event.

In this background, and to procure maximum participation of the masses in the celebrations, Lahore High Court is organizing ‘Art and Literature Contests’ i.e. photography contests, essay writing competition, old photographs contest and children painting contest.
The submissions are open from October 17, 2016 to November 15, 2016 while the wards will be given at the 150th Anniversary Conference to be held on December 10, 2016.

After a successful car taxi service, Uber Pakistan decided to launch exquisite new services in Pakistan officially announcing the launch of rickshaw service ‘uberAUTO’ in Lahore. Chairman PITB, Dr Umar Saif inaugurated uberAUTO and took the first ride.
DIG Operations, Haider Ashraf, CCPO Lahore, Captain Amin Wains, CTO Lahore, Tayyab Cheema, Secretary Excise, Ahmed Bilal, DG IT (PITB), Faisal Yousaf, CEO Uber, Zohair Yousafi and Head of Expansions Uber, Loic Amado were all present at the event and deliberated the operations of the service.
Zohair Yousafi said that passengers who cannot afford an expensive car ride uberAUTO is the answer for them. Rickshaws are an iconic part of Lahore landscape and so they are excited to unveil another service from platform of Uber. Lahore has wholeheartedly welcomed progressive technology and smart transport solutions while introducing uberAUTO, Uber is contributing to the share of securing the rickshaw culture, he added.
Loic Amado stated that uberAUTO is our effort to expand Uber’s consumer reach for the Pakistani populace. He also informed that uberAUTO will be operating in compliance with Chief Minister Green Punjab Scheme.
Dr Umar Saif said that uberAUTO is another way of using technology to offer more choice and making life simpler offering cheap and safe mode of transportation. uberAUTO will also help rickshaw drivers to earn through technology, he added. He further said that initiatives like uberAUTO are a reflection of the way in which Lahore embraces technology within transport industry.
Chairman PITB said that the law enforcement department can leverage on data collected by Uber to ensure security and law & order in the city, which was endorsed by DIG Ops, Haider Ashraf.

Chairman PITB, Dr Umar Saif visited THQ Kamoki to review the progress of PITB’s hospital reform projects along with DCO Gujranwala, Amir Jan. PITB had initiated and implemented a Hospital Information Management System (HIMS) in THQ Kamoki, which has been successful enough that the system has now been implemented at THQ Raiwind whereas the emergency of Jinnah Hospital, Lahore has also been fully automated.
With the digitization of healthcare data including performance assessment and biometric attendance of the staff, electronic medical record, pharmacy automation, patient care, hospital administration and the corresponding service processing, HIMS has enabled transparent service delivery to the patients.

In succession of the effective operations of e-Khidmat Centers, another Facilitation Center was launched in Gujranwala today amidst media and citizens. Chairman PITB, Dr Umar Saif was accompanied by DG (e-Governance, PITB), Sajid Latif & Director (CFS, PITB), Muhammad Waseem Bhatti at the inaugural ceremony where he met the e-Khidmat team instituted at the Gujranwala center. Briefing the media, Dr Umar Saif said that the Facilitation Center will help the common man to avail services with respect and without any hassle under one roof. e-Khidmat center allows greater accountability, transparency and simplifies transaction procedures, he added. He stated that the success of facilitation centers in other cities and the level of citizen satisfaction has been thoroughly encouraging, which motivated us to continue opening centers of the same ilk in other cities. Dr Saif added that the CFCs have proved to be a path breaking initiative in the course of public service delivery.
DCO Gujranwala, Aamir Jan and Commissioner, Captain Asif, were also present at the launch event. They appreciated PITB for the untiring efforts and Dr Umar Saif for his dedicated, guided attention.

Team PITB met the delegates from Turkey at the Primary Secondary Health Department where they briefed them about various health initiatives undertaken by Punjab IT Board in collaboration with Health Department including Anti Dengue Surveillance System, Drug Inspection Monitoring and Evaluation System, BHU Clustering and Hospital Information Management System.

Chairman PITB, Dr Umar Saif met the newly instated Director (USAID, Punjab), Allison McFarland and Economic Growth Specialist (USAID), Kamran Niazi at PITB today. Introducing the delegates with the ventures, accomplishments and prospects of Plan9 - PITB's Tech Incubator and the startup culture in Pakistan, Dr Umar Saif pitched the idea of Maker Movement in Pakistan that will promote art, innovation, creation and imagination in the country while stating that the maker space instituted at PITB shall serve as a precursor to the movement. He further elaborated that the aim behind maker movement is to start hosting maker fests and setting up maker spaces across colleges and universities to encourage students to work towards technological innovations. He also discussed the introduction of the subject of ‘Technology for Development’ at Information Technology University (ITU).
Allison McFarland appreciated the continual efforts at Plan9 that provides an optimum platform to startups thereby encouraging technological expansion. Dr Saif also introduced McFarland to the program of distributing smartphones among farmers through which they shall be acquainted with necessary methods of agriculture and other imperative recommendations to boost harvest bringing economic uplift.

A training session for participants from agriculture department including Director General (PW & QCP), Deputy Director (PW & QCP) and Assistant Directors Agriculture (Plant Protection) from 20 districts regarding the Pest Scan android-based application was held at PITB. The purpose of the application is to monitor the quality of services provided by the AO, AD & DD on field visits to different locations within a tehsil on district level. The session was conducted by Salman Amin (PD, PPMRP), Bilal Saifi (JD Ops, PPMRP), Ishfaq Ali (PM PPMRP) and Fahad Khan (PO, PPMRP).
Pilot of Pest Scan Application has been launched in 20 districts where has the app currently installed in Assistant Director Agriculture (Plant Protection)’s phones. From now onwards, they will conduct their activities through this application.

Considering the raising issues of health, its importance and need, PITB carried out a training session regarding the Geographic Information System (GIS) based mapping of areas at a micro level of a district, e.g. towns, UCs, areas, teams and their days.
The basic purpose of this mapping is to guide respective teams regarding their Union Council area jurisdictions as well as to ensure that all children in the mapped areas are covered.

To ensure fool proof security in Punjab during Ashura, Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has established a Central Command and Control Room deploying its best people to monitor all activities including majalis and processions in 11 districts of Punjab. Live feed received from more than 245 cameras installed, thoroughly covering the routes of the processions, shall be efficiently monitored and Minister Law, Chief Secretary, Secretary Home and IGP Punjab shall be kept informed.
Majalis and processions across 11 districts including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Jhang, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Bhakkar, Multan, DG Khan, Chakwal, Muzaffargarh and Pakpattan will also be conducted through the Provincial Intelligence Center (PIC) of PITB.

CM Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif visited ITU today. Vice Chancellor ITU & Chairman PITB, Dr Umar Saif welcomed the worthy CM and introduced him to the standard of education, top notch faculty members and educational facilities and prospects ITU offers. Dr Saif expressed his desire to build ITU into a world class research university, which was delightfully appreciated by the CM. In a meeting held at the Central Police Office (CPO), Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mushtaq Sukhera said that the up-gradation of all ongoing IT projects would be completed by January next. He said that some 715 police stations of the province would be upgraded and FIRs and reports would be registered online from January 2017.
Chairman PITB, Dr Umar Saif welcomed police chief`s efforts to start IT projects including human resource management system, criminal record management, bio-metric attendance system, homicide units and 8787 public complaint centers adding that 207 out of 709 police stations have reception desks and 440 have computerized FIR system.

Polio campaign monitoring via mobile app is now live in seven districts including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, DG Khan, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh and Rahim Yar Khan. Area in-charges and UCMOs monitor efficacy of polio campaign on the go and report using smart phone. As many as 3,800 mobile handsets with pre-installed polio app were distributed for the said purpose. Activities reported so far (at the end of fourth day) were 170,000 and counting. PITB team (deputed in KSA to run the IT-based operation for Hajj 2016) and Hakim Khattak (Assistant Director IT, MoRA IT wing) welcomed the delegates from NAHCON.
Hakim Khattak briefed about the Hajj policy and overall process & operations to serve the pilgrims from Pakistan for Hajj 2016. Saima Shaikh (Director Training & Development, PITB) elaborated the IT-based services and demonstrated the Hajj management systems developed by PITB in detail.
NAHCON team acknowledged the efforts of PITB and MoRA to technologically empower Hajj operations through IT and wished to replicate it for NAHCON to facilitate Nigerian pilgrims. The meeting concluded with a reciprocal vote of thanks.

For the safety of the citizens, the Lahore police have decided to computerize the record of the people working at workshops, shopping malls, and homes. Before hiring any female or male as a worker, people will have to register their new worker at the front desk or CRO branch. Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, accompanied by delegates visited PITB today. Chairman PITB, Dr Umar Saif and his team received the worthy guests. Dr Saif gave a detailed presentation on the prominent ICT interventions devised by PITB in sectors of health, education and law & order, which have helped empower Punjab. Punjab Education and Sports Minister, Rana Mashood was also present at the occasion. Delegates from Sindh appreciated PITB for the efforts contributed to improve methods of governance. Thoroughly impressed by PITB’s tech ventures, CM Sindh aspired to replicate and implement similar initiatives in Sindh.

PITB in collaboration with Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) and Punjab Police has launched a web portal that documents pictures and other necessary details of children that had gone missing and have now been found or recovered by Edhi, CPWB, Punjab Police and other concern departments.
Access to the portal has been provided to all relevant departments so the website can be updated on time while parents and guardians would easily be able to search their children through the website and reach out to the authorities through the 24/7 helpline 1121.

Pakistan’s startup and our star Plan9 alumni, Patari won the second place at the World Startup Cup 2016 that took place in Washington, D.C. from 3 to 5 August. Over a 1,000 startups and SMEs participated in 65 national competitions for the prestige of presenting at the world finals.

An orientation seminar regarding the e-Stamping project was conducted at the TMA Layalpur Town Hall, Faisalabad. The seminar was attended by stamp vendors, deed writers, sub-registrars, staff members of land branch and registry branch and all relevant stakeholders.
Chaired by Momin Agha (Divisional Commissioner), DCO Salman Ghani and Sajid Latif (DG e-Gov – PITB) the event also informed participants that the introduction of e-Stamp papers shall ensure transparency and obstruct chances of fraudulence while the citizens would be spared from any procedural corruption.

PITB in collaboration with Information Technology University - ITU conducted a 4-day hands-on training session of 105th National Management Course (NMC) at ASTP. The training conducted by Saima Shaikh (Director Training & Development – PITB), aimed at enhancing understanding of IT products, which can facilitate day to day activities and office tasks.

Team PITB comprising Director General (IT Operations), Faisal Yousaf and General Manager (IT), Burhan Rasool, met IGP Sindh, Allah Dino Khowaja to discuss automation of police. He appreciated PITB for devising systems and software for Punjab police that have introduced transparency and improved efficiency. A two-day training session of Dealer Vehicle Management System for the agents of Citizen Contact Center (CCC) was conducted at PITB. The ‘Lahore High Court IT Fair 2016’ took place at the Punjab Judicial Academy on Friday. First of its kind, the Fair showcased all the IT initiatives developed for judiciary in order to streamline judicial processes and ensure transparency.
Generously attended by lawyers, judges and all relevant stakeholders amidst media, the event gave a unique platform to all 36 districts of Punjab to showcase their IT interventions pertaining to judiciary.
At the occasion, Chief Justice Lahore High Court, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah inaugurated LHC’s website and application developed by PITB and visited various stalls with Chairman PITB, Dr Umar Saif and got acquainted with IT initiatives including PITB’s Cause List Management System, Litigant Feedback Monitoring Program, helplines and Enterprise Case Flow Management.
LHC acknowledged Dr Umar Saif and team PITB for their untiring efforts and providing technical assistance to the IT wing of the Court whereas Dr Saif stated that Justice Mansoor Ali Shah is a visionary man who believes in reformation, timely justice and transparency. On the visit Chairman PITB, Dr Umar Saif gave a presentation on various projects of the board including e-Rozgar programme. The meeting evaluated and discussed the pilot project for jobs and growth in the digital economy.

A total of 51 cases have been processed through PITB developed online portal for E-Procurement generating an amount of Rs. 4,230,125 for four quarters of the fiscal year 2015-16.
E-Procurement allows vendors to file only one genuine quotation against each procurement opportunity using GST and National Tax Number that ensures accountability and transparency of the bidders/vendors. It saves government’s money allocated for petty purchases and ensures standardization in purchase prices across all departments of the government.

Meeting to finalize the operationalization and soft launch of Citizen Facilitation and Service Center (CFSC), Gujranwala was held in the office of District Coordination Officer (Gujranwala), Muhammad Aamir Jan, and team PITB including Director General (e-Governance), Sajid Latif and Director (CFS/PD CFSC), Muhammad Waseem Bhatti .
Both teams visited the Center as well and worthy DCO, Gujranwala announced to start the operations of the CFSC (e-Khidmat Markaz), Gujranwala on July 25, 2016 and instructed the concerned teams to finish remaining work in next couple of days.

PITB has devised umpteen ICT interventions for health, education, law and order, and citizen facilitation services including Citizen Feedback Monitoring Program, e-Khidmat Centers, e-Learn Project, Smart Monitoring of Schools, e-Stamping, Dengue Tracking System, Crime Mapping, DLIMS, etc. that have enabled the government to introduce a culture of transparency and facilitate the citizens.

PITB pays tribute to legendary humanitarian, Abdul Sattar Edhi. The man with a sole mission of serving humanity irrespective of their caste, creed or religion – Edhi’s departure left us all crestfallen. The measure of his greatness can be measured by the fact that his death united Pakistan across all affiliations. The kindest soul on earth, the exceptional Edhi gave ordinary Pakistanis immense pride.
The most fitting tribute to Edhi would be for us to become Edhis in our spheres.
|Jul 13, 2016||Citizen Facilitation Center to be Operational in Sahiwal
A pre-launch meeting for the e-Khidmat Center in Sahiwal was held among PITB, Commissioner Sahiwal and his team, and all service providing departments including Police, E&T, LG&CD, NADRA, Traffic Police, LRMIS, Post Office in the Committee Room of e-Khidmat Center, Sahiwal. Test run of all service along with the training of officials will start from tomorrow whereas the center will be operational by the end of this week.
Sajid Latif (Director General e-Governance) and Muhammad Waseem Bhatti (Director Citizen Facilitation Services) along with FC team represented PITB at the meeting while a special acknowledgement was given to the Chairman PITB, Dr Umar Saif, for his continuous support and motivation.
e-Khidmat center is an automated one-window for all public services with the sole purpose to facilitate citizens and mitigate corruption.

726 Active Hajj Group Organizers have, so far, registered 50,775 private Hujjaj through an online system that was activated for registration on June 30, 2016. The last date for registration is July 15, 2016.

Stakeholders’ consultative session for the launch of e-Stamping Project in rest of the districts of Gujranwala division was held in the office of Project Management Unit, e-Stamping Project. Citizens of Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin will be now be able to get stamp papers electronically very soon. The session, outlining the process and overall features of the e-Stamping application was chaired by Project Director of e-Stamping Asad Islam Mahni and Sajid Latif (DG e-Governance and Additional PD e-Stamping – PITB).

Our resources working at Citizen Contact Center (PITB) celebrated Eid in their office to ensure the safety and comfort of the citizens during the Eid holidays and handled calls and queries for different departments of Government of Punjab (CDGL, WASA, PDMA and PHL) .The on-duty staff sacrificed their joy to facilitate the people and were happy to serve others during Eid holidays.
Citizen Contact Center management also celebrated Eid with the resources and decorated the Contact Center with buntings and distributed Eidi amongst females (bangles and mehndi) while meal vouchers were distributed among the winners of ‘Best Dress Theme Competition’ and the supervisors (operations) who arranged all the event.

Chairman PITB Dr. Umar Saif appreciated the efforts of e-Stamping team for implementing the e-Stamping system in Gujranwala district. The project is being rolled out in remaining districts of Gujranwala Division after Eid. Chairman PITB distributed appreciation letters to the e-Stamping team as a token of appreciation in acknowledgment of their hard work and dedication. He also directed the team to implement the project on fast-track basis in the entire province. Biometric Criminal Identification System has been incredibly useful to the Punjab police to authenticate criminals and suspicious individuals. The span of interrogation at Thana level, through quick retrieval of criminal record, has been drastically reduced owing to the installation of this new system at all police stations across Punjab. Moreover, accuracy and performance of the existing setup has visibly improved.
