PITB-developed Driving License Issuance Management System (DLIMS) automates the process for driving license issuance, renewal and upgrades, throughout Punjab, providing quick processing service to public and up to date statistics to the authorities. Moreover, the Transport Department Automation System (TDAS) has been devised to issue computerized route permits, certificate of fitness, licenses of bus stands, etc.

A training on the use of Medicine and Equipment Inventory Management System was organized by PITB for Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) and Government Teaching Hospital Shahdra. The training session was conducted by Shahid Akram Khan (Joint Director EGA), Bilal Iqbal (Program Manager), Mohsin Kamran (Program Officer) and Ansa Shafi (Assistant Program Officer).

Dr. Saif gave a presentation on the working of the IT-based systems in the education sector and highlighted initiatives like e-Learn Punjab, Open Data of Smart School Monitoring and Literacy Drive that have viably affected the standard of education and facilities provided at public schools.
John Casson said that Punjab’s IT-based education reforms could be a great model for system-wide changes in Egypt’s schools and showed interest in both, the technical methodology of system-wide reform in Punjab and the political reformation.

A workshop on ‘Innovative approaches to tackle health challenges faced by Punjab’, aimed at learning from the success stories of McKinsey & Company’s interventions in the developing world, was held at PITB. Team PITB, spearheaded by Chairman PITB, Dr. Umar Saif comprising Rizwan Rashid (DG, IT), Saflain Haider (Director, EGA) and Adil Iqbal Khan Joint Director (Development & Infrastructure), shared insights from PITB on current digital health initiatives while the team from McKinsey & Company, led by Dr. Victor Hediger comprising Dr. Panco Georgiev and Taimoor Khan, discussed innovative approaches and experiences from other countries, such as interventions in the area of lady health workers and tertiary care methodologies. Application and potential implementation of successful interventions in Pakistan was also deliberated.
Team from Health Department comprising Ali Jan, Najam Shah, Dr Faisal Masud, Dr Tahira Akram and Dr Irfan also participated in the workshop.

Jun 17, 2016 Digitizing Local Government Constituencies: Training held at PITB
PITB GIS Wing has started a pilot project to digitize local government constituencies of recently held local government elections in collaboration with Local Government & Community Development Department (LG&CD).
In pursuance of this task, training of master trainers was held at PITB under the supervision of Ammar Ahmad (GIS Expert, PITB). All Tehsil Officers Planning and Coordination (TO-P&C) of district Sargodha participated to learn the newly developed ‘Local Government Jurisdictions Application’ to demarcate boundaries of Union Councils (UCs) and Wards in their respective tehsils. Initially implemented in Lahore and Sargodha, the project would soon be extended and replicated across Punjab.

The facilitation centers are meant to integrate several government services, including issuance of birth/death certificate, marriage/divorce certificate, character certificate, vehicle registration, vehicle ownership transfer, 'fard' of land, learning driving license, traffic fine collection, domicile, issuance of CNIC, etc. under one roof. The establishment of e-Khidmat centers would reduce corruption in government departments and discourage the culture of agents and clerks.

Training session for master trainers, nominated at district level, for Online College Admission System (OCAS) was conducted by PITB on June 2, 2016.
OCAS has facilitated over 670 colleges across Punjab for their Intermediate admissions in the past years while more than 670,000 applications have been processed through the system so far.

A meeting to chalk out ways to facilitate farmers through Kissan package was held at PITB today. PITB held an exclusive session, prior to its official launch in Gujranwala district, to brief the stakeholders on the e-Stamping system. Presided by DG e-Governance Sajid Latif, who was accompanied by PITB e-Stamping JD Ali Mazhar, the event was especially attended by the Commissioner Gujranwala and DCO Gujranwala. Sajid Latif thanked the Commissioner and the DCO for their support and the stakeholders, including officers and officials of BOR, Finance Department, Bank of Punjab and State Bank of Pakistan. He appreciated the efforts of PITB e-Stamping team and thanked Chairman PITB Dr Umar Saif for his guidance and support. The system will start operating from today in district Gujranwala and shall soon be launched in other districts across Punjab.
   
May 20, 2016 PITB implemented Cognitive System will enhance crop yield
PITB is actively working with the Agriculture department of the government to implement tech-driven solutions for better production of crops. The government introduced ‘Cognitive System,’ powered by PITB, will facilitate agriculturalists and farmers to improve their business prospects. For this purpose, PITB has taken the stakeholders on board and conducted a session in which senior representatives of agriculture and telecommunication companies were acquainted with the ‘Cognitive System.’ During the session, which was presided by DG IT Operations Faisal Yousaf , a comprehensive list of over 6.5 million farmers across Punjab was shared with the participants while a price list of all the agro-chemicals and seeds was also finalized.

May 20, 2016 Agricultural Reformation through Smart Use of Technology
As a continued effort and commitment to improve methods of agricultural trends in the province, Punjab Government along with the Agriculture Department has devised an effectively innovative ‘cognitive system’ with the thorough technical assistance of PITB. The mechanism will facilitate farmers and improve business prospects for fertilizer, seed and pesticide companies.
A session in relevance to the initiative was conducted by Faisal Yousaf (DG IT Operations, PITB), which was attended by CEOs of all the major fertilizer, seed and pesticide companies. An exhaustive list of more than 6.5 million farmers across Punjab was shared with the participants, which is bound to reap fiscal benefits. Moreover, a price list of all the agrochemicals and seeds was also finalized so the farmers could not be dodged. The end goal, however, is to increase the yield and bring benefit to the farmers in terms of money, time and effort through the indigenous decision-making system.

PITB hosted the second IT Round Table Conference at ASTP on May 12, 2016 (Thursday.) The conference was enthusiastically attended by 152 IT companies alongside P@SHA, Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA), Federal Ministry of Commerce and Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT). PITB e-Stamping team delivered an e-Stamping application training to sub-registrars and housing societies of Gujranwala district. Training was given on automation of DC valuation data, overall features of e-Stamping application and verification of e-Stamp certificates issued by Bank of Punjab. e-Stamping user manuals were also provided to the participants.

PITB e-Stamping team conducted e-Stamping application training for the Housing Societies and District Collector of Gujranwala district. Besides giving an overview on the overall features of e-Stamping application, the official staff was trained for online verification of e-Stamp Certificates issued by Bank of Punjab. Motorway and Highway Police has now been updated with android smartphones and tablets incorporated with the e-ticketing application devised by PITB. All devices are interlinked with each other as well as with police officers’ printers via Bluetooth. The system is also connected to PITB’s main server through 3G service. The sole purpose of the initiative is to reduce corruption and facilitate commuters, efficiently.

Apr 18, 2016 More than 132,075 Challans Issued through PITB-developed e-Ticketing System
More than 132,075 challans have been issued since the introduction of e-Ticketing system in September 2015. Once a ticket is slapped, the violator immediately receives SMS regarding his violation and penalty. The offenders are also given a receipt of payment of e-ticket. Record of each commuter who violates rules is documented and the track helps to spot repetitive offenders. The system has been devised by PITB for National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) in order to discourage malpractice.

Apr 15, 2016 State Bank of Pakistan Appoints BoP as its Agent for Tax Collection
State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) appointed Bank of Punjab as its agent for collecting receipts, taxes for Government of the Punjab. Citizens of Punjab will now be able to submit their receipts, taxes, etc. at all the branches of Bank of Punjab across province. This historic milestone achieved by Punjab Government might as well open doors for the private banks to be included as agents to collect taxes, levies and fees. This would not only diversify tax payment options viz. electronic and mobile payment methods for tax payers but also introduce a much needed competition in government’s tax collection business thereby improving the service quality of banks engaged in tax collection. This has eased the launch of PITB’s first product – Electronic Stamp Papers.
This breakthrough should be credited to the untiring efforts of all stakeholders including Board of Revenue (BoR) Punjab, Finance Department (FD) Punjab, Bank of Punjab, State Bank of Pakistan and the PITB’s e-Stamping team.

Accomplishing a staggering 99% commuter satisfaction, the new e-ticketing system, developed by PITB for National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP), enables the commuters to record their feedback. After the warden issues challan, he is supposed to register their feedback; the commuter thenceforth receives an SMS enquiring about the level of satisfaction. The feedback helps detect loopholes in the system as well improve service delivery.

PITB e-Stamping team conducted a refresher session for e-Stamping, followed by training session on Verification System, at Bank of Punjab in Gujranwala on April 12, 2016. The session was attended by sub-registrars of Gujranwala district and Bank of Punjab. The purpose of this training was to facilitate the registration authority for online verification of stamp papers issued using the e-Stamping System.

More than 200,000 invoices were received in a month, which were sifted through the balloting system developed by PITB. Exclusive gift hampers including cars, motorbikes and Umrah tickets were distributed among the winners while it was announced the balloting would be held on monthly basis. Chairman PITB, Dr Umar Saif addressed the participants highlighting the benefits of the system whereas officials from 36 districts of Punjab were also present at the occasion through Video Conferencing.

PITB Anti-Dengue team conducted a training session on Third Party Validation Application, developed by PITB, in order to empower the field officials with smartphone-based android application. PITB Annual Dinner 2016 took place at ASTP on March 26, which was the most exciting event commenced in the beginning of the year. The event initiated with a certification distribution ceremony where the top performers of PITB were rewarded with appreciation certificates followed by an entertaining performance by the junior staffers. Next up was a sarcastic play about the life and work at PITB that left the audience enthralled, and received a huge round of applause. Chairman PITB, Dr Umar Saif addressed the attendees, he narrated his journey to and from PITB and appreciated the hard work that the employees put in, which has given PITB the recognition it enjoys today. A lecture on the employing information technology in modern drug control regime was conducted by Farah Naheed and Moeen Akhtar at PITB. PITB conducted a two-day hands-on training session, in collaboration with JHPIEGO (an affiliate of John Hopkins University), for Tele Health Operators on Postpartum Family Planning Services. Mar 24, 2016 PITB to Facilitate CM's Health Reforms Program
PITB continues its efforts to digitize health initiatives to facilitate Chief Minister’s Health Reforms Roadmap Programme for secondary healthcare. The deployment of Online Biometric Attendance System for hospitals across Punjab proved to be one of the most effective initiatives, which is significantly contributing towards efficient delivery of health services for the citizens. The system ensures presence and punctuality of doctors, administrative staff and other employees at hospitals during duty hours. Up till now more than 18,000 hospital staff has been enrolled over biometric attendance system and on average more than 14,000 staff members daily mark their attendance using the Online Biometric Attendance System.

In order to facilitate public and save them for unnecessary hassle, Government of the Punjab has established e-Khidmat Centers across province whereby citizens would be provided with all public services at one place. People would no longer have to wander from one department to another, person to person, for their CNIC /passport issuance, birth/death/marriage/divorce registration, domicile, traffic fine collection, issuance of route permit, token tax collection services, etc. Assisted by PITB, these tech-enabled facilitation centers are a sure way to ease access for citizens in a cost-effective manner.

Speaking as a keynote speaker at LUMS Synergies'16, Chairman PITB Dr Umar Saif highlighted how important it is for the youth to explore entrepreneurial ventures rather than merely relying on jobs. He elaborated that the system is a unique idea to enhance the number of tax payers whereby food businesses get registered with the authorities. PITB's tech-powered Restaurant Invoice Monitoring System (RIMS), in collaboration with Punjab Revenue Authority, has been launched in Lahore today. With the initiation of this tax collection system, the citizens, who get their bills processed through the system, are also given an incentive to participate in a lucky draw and win prizes.

A 5-day successful training workshop for 74 police officers from all districts of Punjab, conducted at PITB, concluded today. Hands-on training on the CRO system, rolling fingerprint device, preparing manual CRO Index cards, scanning and storing Index cards, installing scanner software and configuring right settings for the scanner was given to the participants. Each trainee was practically and theoretically evaluated during the last two days of the session.

After successful initiation in Punjab, the e-ticketing system devised by PITB for the National Highway and Motorway Police makes its way to Quetta. eVaccs dashboard, fully operational and live in all districts, enables to monitor vaccinators’ field activities across Punjab. Login credentials have been shared with the Executive District Officers (EDOs) to monitor district level activities that consequently improve performance at provincial level. Moreover, it enables EDOs to take preemptive measures to ensure child health.

Demonstration of the Dealers Vehicle Registration System (DVRS) was conducted at PITB today. Mar 03, 2016 Delegates from Sindh Capacity Development Fund meet Dr Saif
A delegation from the Sindh Capacity Development Fund visited PITB today. Dr Umar Saif demonstrated and briefed the delegates about the Program Monitoring and implementation Unit (PMIU) system developed by PITB. PMIU summarizes the real-time data received from schools across Punjab and enables the public to freely access that data. Dr Saif explained how open and freely accessible data can promote transparency and work performance in education sector.

Chairman PITB Dr Umar Saif briefed the journalists about PITB’s e-Khidmat endeavors. He highlighted the ways in which the facilitation centers shall help citizens with the issuance of domiciles, birth and death certificates, land registrations, vehicle registration and other public delivery services. The Centers shall also work to improve the quality and efficiency of services thereby ensuring transparency. Mar 02, 2016 Punjab Government Launches Computerized Dealer Vehicle Registration System
With the assistance of PITB as its technical arm, the Excise Department in collaboration with National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has developed a computerized dealer vehicle registration system. All vehicles shall now be registered at the dealers before leaving the showroom. The easy process shall facilitate citizens as they wouldn’t have to wait in long queues for registrations and number plates. Introduction of the system shall not only minimize revenue losses attributed to unregistered vehicles but also eliminate the law and order threat.
Signing ceremony of MOU between Excise Department, NBP and PITB was held today. The ceremony, covered widely by media, was attended by Secretary Excise Dr Ahmad Bilal, DG Akram Ashraf Gondal, Chairman PITB Dr Umar Saif, Senior Member SMU Salman Sufi, VP National Bank Mohsin Furqan and other relevant officers.

A delegation from World Bank, accompanied by team members of BISP, visited PITB to review the system developed by PITB for BISP Waseela-e-Taleem. Feb 25, 2016 WHO Representatives Lauds PITB Anti-Dengue Team
An exclusive delegation of World Health Organization visited Dengue Monitoring Cell at Institute of Public Health during which PITB Dengue Project Lead Shahzad Anwar presented IT components of Anti-Dengue Campaign; Dengue Tracking System, Complaint Management Systems, Patient Reporting System, and Vector Surveillance. Briefing on future implementations were also shared that include an Android based application of Patient Hotspots Surveillance to track and monitor the affected vaccinates. Upcoming project Automation of Dengue Virus Report, which will help to register the complaints and assign them to responsible agencies for their prompt response in real-time manner, was also discussed. WHO Regional Advisor Dr Hamayun Asghar appraised the commendable efforts by PITB Dengue Team for carrying out a successful Anti-Dengue Campaign.

Jan 29, 2016 PITB established Video Conference Facility Enables Secure Video Conferencing
Video Conferencing facility available at the Chief Minister Office, as well as, provincial HQ, DCO and DPO offices has held 857 meetings so far with total duration of 81,540 minutes or 1359 hours. The CM has chaired at least 269 meetings with duration of 37,680 minutes or 628 hours. The facility has saved the government over PKR 100 million in transportation and TA/DA costs, while saving hundreds of hours of commuting time. Moreover, Video Conference facility has enabled Punjab Government to function under high security alerts.

PITB's PPMRP team, invited by KPK Health Department, had a detailed meeting with the Health Secretary KPK for the implementation of PITB initiated e-Vaccs to improve KPK’s immunisation coverage. With an aim to increase transparency and efficiency through smart monitoring of field staff, e-Vaccs has shown significant improvement in the performance of vaccinators across Punjab. Used by at least 3700 vaccinators in Punjab, it enables the authorities to monitor vaccinators’ attendance, area coverage, number of children vaccinated and number and type of vaccine administered.

A training session ‘Serve with a Smile’ was conducted for CCC agents at PITB on Wednesday. The training aimed at developing communication skills among the agents and how they could effectively handle customer queries in current unfeasible situations where they are devoid of advanced tools and facilities. The agents were trained on how to use available systems and smartly handle customer queries along with the etiquette to open and close calls. National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore celebrated International Anti-Corruption Day recently during which NAB Lahore launched the website ‘Character Building Societies’ developed exclusively by PITB. The common objective of ‘Character Building Societies,’ an initiative of NAB Lahore, is to strengthen, uplift the confidence and enhance the abilities of students at different levels. NAB, under the platform of CBS, arranges competitions on different topics and themes related to NAB's mandate.

A very successful session was held on World Bank webinar at Online Learning Campus in which Chairman PITB Dr Umar Saif was the special speaker. Titled Smart Government Solutions for better Service Delivery, he presented a number of Smartphone-based systems developed by the Government of Punjab to monitor government work, improve civic services and collect citizen feedback. He shared the success story of various ICT interventions of Punjab government initiated by PITB to track and contain a Dengue epidemic, identify crime clusters, measure teacher presence, monitor visits of rural doctors, improve vaccination, and many such endevours. Nov 18, 2015 PITB‬ Holds Training of WASA Lahore Helpline
Operated by Government of Punjab, WASA Lahore helpline 1334 with a consistent call volume since 2013 (200 average daily calls) is operational again. For this purpose, Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) conducted a refresher training session on the revamped version of WASA Complaint Management System (CMS). WASA officials were briefed on restoration of helpline 1334 and 0800 99000 (PHL). Vice Chairman WASA, Chaudhry Shahbaz graced the occasion with his presence.
Followed by a monthly brief by PITB, the Vice Chairman instructed WASA field officers to ensure tagging of activities using smartphones. PITB will collaborate with WASA Lahore to strengthen monitoring of operations as performed by field officers.

Oct 29, 2015 PITB‬ Develops DILMS Launched Across Punjab
Driving License Issuance Management System, a PITB initiated project, was inaugurated by IGP Punjab Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera today. Operational in 36 districts of Punjab, DLIMS automates the processes for driving license issuance, renewal and upgrades. With data of over 4.0 Million citizens, DLIMS has issued over 65,000 cards and processed over 135,000 licenses since its soft launch in September this year. As a centralized database of licensing system of Punjab, DLIMS acts as data hub to facilitate law enforcement agencies, hence reducing vehicle related crimes, and increase in revenue by ensuring transparency. IGP Punjab highly appreciated the dedication of PITB and the efforts the team put in under the supervision of DG IT Faisal Yousaf and Director Software Burhan Rasool.

PITB representative Shahzad Anwer Chaudhry attended a meeting in Multan chaired by Advisor Health Khawaja Salman Rafique, parliamentarians of Multan district, DCO and commissioner Multan. The attendees aimed to analyze the emergency situation within Multan district for Dengue Surveillance.
Chief Secretary Punjab, Secretary Health, and PITB JD - EGA Saflain Haider along with other stakeholders of the Cabinet Committee joined the meeting via video conference from Rawalpindi. During the meeting, PITB presented analysis of the current dengue situation and briefed all the allied departments about anti-Dengue tracking system.

Recently, PITB has designed and developed a customized app Biometrically Verified Complaint and Feedback System for BISP Beneficiaries, which was highly appreciated by Marvi Memon. PITB would launching the system in all 410 BISP centers across Pakistan.

Inaugurated by Chairperson of BISP Marvi Memon, PITB carried out demo of Biometrically verified Complaint and Feedback System for BISP Beneficiaries during its launch ceremony in Rawalpindi. This application that was designed and launched in 2 days will keep a track record of beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries visiting the BISP office and biometrically verifying legit holder of Benazir Card. Marvi Memon highly appreciated PITB's efforts and thanked them for their support. PITB would also be launching the system in all 410 BISP centers across Pakistan and also be conducting their next survey scheduled in 2016.
   
Sep 29, 2015 Anti-Dengue Tracking Activity System Launches Latest Promo
PITB devised a monitoring mechanism "Anti-Dengue Activity Tracking System" has been successfully operational across Punjab to combat Dengue till date. The System is spanned over 25+ departments and 36 Districts with 2000 android phones in circulation for identifying and removing the dengue causing carriers. This monitoring mechanism has resulted in more than 3.3 Million anti- dengue surveillance activities being submitted.

PITB has developed a Complaint Management System in order to cater the complaints and concerns of the citizens. For this purpose, a special meeting was held at SP Model Town Office to emphasize the importance of Information Technology to facilitate the citizens. The Complaint Management System resolves complaints efficiently while sending out a confirmation SMS to the complainant. It also provides an updated status of their registered complaint in a police station.

PITB team presents DVR Resolution Portal and Tracking System as part of Anti-Dengue Initiatives at Rawalpindi Cabinet Committee Meeting. The team of Dengue Activity Tracking System at PITB led by Joint Director e-Government Application Saflain Haider presented DVR Resolution Portal and Tracking System as part of Anti-Dengue Initiatives. The team, including Programme Officer Shahzad Anwer and Programme Manager Muhammad Khan, made the presentation for the cabinet committee comprising of Dengue Specialist Dr Wasim Akram and the town administrators from departments of health, education, environment, and Rawalpindi Waste Management Company. The cabinet committee was held in Rawalpindi in which daily performance of Rawalpindi authorities was reviewed while guidelines were given for the gaps, prompt solutions were given for issues faced by the authorities, and SOP for IRS at patient's residence was reviewed.

PITB team visits hospitals in Rawalpindi regarding Dengue Activity Tracking System. Team PITB visited Holy Family Hospital and Benazir Bhutto Hospital along with Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Sajid Zafar to review data reporting and entry protocols of dengue patients. PITB team, led by Joint Director e-Government Application Saflain Haider, deployed a team of data operators to assist hospitals for looking after dengue patients. PITB's intervention resulted in better reporting of the dengue patients.

An entrepreneur and advocate of youth empowerment, he is Pakistan's youngest Vice Chancellor among educationists.

Plan International – Pakistan held an exclusive workshop for digitalizing Birth Registration in Pakistan (DBR) in which a team from PITB was invited as special attendees. The workshop presented a feasibility study with the support of National Steering and coordination Committee on CRVS at the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms. The study stated that the use of mobile devices to notify the civil registration system of newborns within an area by lady health workers and electronically notifying school students' attendance is an effective mean for officials at union council to validate these notifications without manually entering and collecting data.

Peaceful Pakistan, an initative of the Government of Pakistan held award ceremony of Peaceful Pakistan Competition at Punjab Information Technology Board on September 4, 2015. The prize distribution ceremony was presided by Director General e-Governance Punjab Information Technology Board.
Speaking at the event Sajid Latif said, “Peaceful Pakistan is an initiative of the Government to pursue peace, harmony, inter-religious tolerance and unity by sketching a positive image of Pakistan. The team at Peaceful Pakistan is determined to work towards building a positive Pakistan through various means of communications.”
In a jury session held prior to the event jury members selected the winners on the basis of concept, production and execution. The category that particpants contributed for were Documenarty, Short Films, Photography and Poetry. The jury comprised of veteran Film Director Syed Noor, renowned writer and poet Dr M Tahir and senior photographer Azhar Sheikh.

Sep 04, 2015 e-Khidmat Center Lahore Now Open for Citizen Service
e-Khidmat Center, a project of Citizen Facilitation & Services Centers at Punjab Information Technology Board, was inaugurated by the Chief Sectary Punjab Khizar Hayat Gondal at Jinnah Town Hall Lahore. Accompanied by the Chief Secretary Punjab was Chairman PITB Dr Umar Saif, Director General e-Governance Sajid Latif and his team who devoted their timeless effort for the establishment of e-khidmat center.
The first e-khidmat center was opened in Rawalpindi, where as Dr Umar Saif said, 17,000 applications had been received at the first e-Khidmat Center set up in Rawalpindi.
While visiting various sections of e-khidmat the Chief Secretary Punjab appreciated the initiatives taken up by Punjab Information Technology Board to enable the government with latest technology to make it achieve its endevours.
e-Khidmat Center offers complete citizen services under one roof. The services offered by many federal and provincial level organizations will be combined under one roof so that the public at large may get benefit from these centers.

Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) in collaboration with Information Technology University (ITU) conducted a 4 day hands-on training session of 103rd National Management Course at Arfa Software Technology Park. Basic IT training was provided to participants to increase their efficiency and productivity. Senior representatives at PITB presented case studies regarding Technology Based Monitoring Systems, Citizen Centric Projects and Process Automation.
Exclusive guest speakers at the event were Adnan Kazi and Hasan Waqar from TeraData who talked about Big Data Analysis and involved the participants in hands-on session. Management of Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) had invited PITB to find out synergies in different initiatives to collaborate with each other. Therefore, there was an agreement to cooperate on certain things; one of them is referral system. Another is cardiac vacancy system, then there is HMIS and also a knowledge portal for awareness of physicians and general public. In the end, memento was also given to Mr. Rizwan Rashid (DG, IT) and Mr. Saflain Haider (JD, EGA) of PITB.

Drug Inspection Monitoring and Evaluation (DIME) is an initiative by PITB which has been launched to provide quality drugs to public. DIME has been launched in four CDGs including Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Multan. A training session by Farah Naheed, Moeen Akhtar, Rana Umair and Sheikh Muhammad Saad was conducted at PITB ( Arfa Technology Park, Lahore) today, which was attended by Chief Drug Controller (Punjab), focal person from four CDGs, focal person for inspection of manufacturing units across the Punjab as well as drug inspectors from these CDGs.
   
Aug 06, 2015 Meeting for e-Ticketing System Held at PITB
A meeting was held with the SP Punjab regarding e-ticketing system for National Highway and Motorway in which both parties discussed the possibilities of improving the system. The state-of-the-art technology developed by PITB would facilitate National Highway and Motorway Police with an app that is easily operated from smartphone to fine offenders travelling on the highway. The information and history of the offender will be available to the patrolling officer via number plate of the vehicle or offender’s NIC. The data shall also be available to National Highway and Motorway.

Aug 02, 2015 PITB Provides Biometric Devices to Law & Order Enforcements
PITB has facilitated law and order enforcements with improved biometric devices that can identify a person’s history through BioVeriSys. Currently used for NADRA Verification, the device is also being used to detect a suspect’s criminal record via Criminal Record Office (CRO). The system introduced across Punjab shall be enabled in many other record and data base departments. July 30, 2015 Citizen Centric Approach Training Held at PITB
After the success of first office of Citizen Centric Approach opened in Rawalpindi earlier this year, Citizen Facilitation Center plans to open its second office in Lahore. First of its kind in Lahore, the center will facilitate services by Punjab Police, City District Government, Transportation Department, Board of Revenue, LRMS, Excise and Taxation Department, City Traffic Police and NADRA. The training citizen services representatives to ensure process flow while giving them an orientation of the portal, and training them to manage database, back end and front end support and data record keeping.

July 28, 2015 CM Presides Over Video Conference Held at PITB
A video conference meeting presided by Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shehbaz Sharif was held at PITB to discuss the roadmap for Khadm-e-Punjab Rural Road Programme. During the Video Conference the Chief Minister discussed the prerequisite and fundamentals of the roadmap with 9 Commissioners and DCO Muzafarghar. Khadm-e-Punjab Rural Road Programme is an initiative of the Government of Punjab to pave route for farmers transporting crops and foods from rural to urban areas. The meeting was also attended by Chairman PITB Dr Umar Saif and important government personnel.
   
July 28, 2015 Science Syllabus for 8th Class Updated on eLearn.Punjab
Punjab Textbook Board made changes in the book of General Science for class 8th and launched updated textbook in the market. So, eLearn.Punjab also incorporated those changes and now new edition of General Science for class 8th is available online on the web portal of eLearn.Punjab. This online book contains 145 videos, 41 simulations, 107 interactive assessments, 63 animations and 172 figures relevant to the topics.

PITB has develop an android app to facilitate food inspection by food safety officials from the highly proactive Punjab Food Authority. A comprehensive training session was held by PITB for the food inspectors to ensure smooth operation of the activity. Real time data will be available on PFA online dashboard via this app.
   
July 27, 2015 PITB Helps Fight Dengue
A wider spread of PITB’s Dengue Activity Tracking System has been instrumental in combating the disease. Individuals from the team visit areas where the dengue virus is a concern. An image of the area is taken before and after the dengue cleanse. 2,580,510 dengue activities have been recorded between January and July, 2015.
An online portal can also be accessed by officials where dengue activity is tracked using a heat map. Here is an image of the heat map, the high risk areas are marked red.
   
July 26, 2015 PITB Automates Citizen Complaint and Monitoring for PFA
Punjab Food Authority has launched a Toll Free number for complaints regarding quality of food items in Ramzan bazaars, all other bazaars, hotels/ restaurants and roadside eateries. Trained call agents deputed by Punjab Information Technology Board will listen complaints and will register them for their redressal through PFA. This mechanism will be for Lahore for the time being.

July 24, 2015 Biometric Attendance System Launched Across Punjab
Biometric Attendance System has been launched in 38 DHQs and 100 THQs across Punjab to make health delivery network effective and to improve health services to citizen by ensuring presence and punctuality of doctors, administrative staff and other staff at hospitals during duty hours.
A comprehensive training was conducted on 23rd July, 2015 for the focal persons of DHQ and THQ Hospitals and they were briefed about key features including Enrollment, Roster Management - Shift wise and Leave Management.

July 24, 2015 Punjab Government Revolutionizes Citizen Service Across Punjab
The Punjab Government has revolutionized citizen service across the province through its CFMP project. By placing KIOSKs across public and health departments, now, citizens can log onto the system by entering their ID numbers and file a complaint on the location. The Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif has taken keen interest in responding to the citizens through this system that has encouraged the citizens to actively participate in building a stable nation. Under the leadership of Chairman PITB, Dr. Umar Saif, and managed by JD e-Government Services, Faseih Mehta, CFMP, has become a global model for many developing nations.
   
July 24, 2015 Minister of State for International ‪‎Development Visits PITB
An exclusive delegation of Department For International Development UK in Pakistan (DFID) led by UK MP Desmond Angus Swayne visited PITB today. The members of the delegation included Ben French, Provincial Representative and Head of DFID Lahore and Richard Montgomery, Head of Office DFID Pakistan along with other important dignitaries. Chairman PITB Dr Umar Saif presided the meeting during which he gave a detailed briefing on the e-governance and m-governance endevours taken by the government. July 22, 2015 SECP Applauds Efforts of PITB in Making Hajj Process Easy
Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) appreciated the unequivocally swift and efficient system devised by Punjab Information Technology Board for the collection and balloting of Hajj applications this year, in an article that appeared in Business Recorder (June 04, 2015 Edition). Keeping the efficacy of the system in view, SECP has requested PITB to devise a similar, proficient technological mechanism that shall connect them with the banks conveniently enabling the investors to make online applications thereby facilitating subscription of shares during IPO. Moreover, the mechanism shall viably ensure transparent balloting of shares.

As part of promoting direct contact between citizens and the government, PITB‬ is running and managing Citizen Contact Center (CCC). The center is a one-for-all kind platform managing helplines for many of the government departments. The helpline for ‪Lahore‬ High Court has received 219,323 calls in a short span of time.
   
July 14, 2015 PITB Devises Automated Case Flow Management System
The System is an initiative regarding automating the workings and processes of the ‪courts‬ to ensure transparency and enable efficient service delivery. As part of the project, ‎litigants‬ are informed through auto-generated messages sent via Cause List Messaging system of ‎PITB‬. More than 6.2 million such SMSs have been sent so far to disseminate cases information.

Citizen Facilitation (e-Khidmat) Centers are to be established in all divisions of Punjab in order to provide multiple services at one platform, from where citizens could avail unhindered and easy access to governmental services. e-Khidmat Center concepts to integrate seventeen governmental services viz. issuance of birth certificate, marriage certificate, death certificate, divorce certificate ,character certificate, motor vehicle registration, token tax collection, vehicle transfer of ownership, fard, learners driving license, traffic fine collection, domicile certificate, issuance of CNIC, NADRA e-sahulat and route permit, all under one roof.

July 08, 2015 Machine Readable Computerized Driving Licenses in Punjab
In order to address the concern of driving licenses being forged, the Government of Punjab plans on issuing Machine Readable Computerized Driving Licenses. A meeting was held on the 7th of July 2015 to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Additional IG Punjab of traffic police, Altaf Hussain and Vice President NBP (National Bank of Pakistan), Shafiq Ahmed Khan.
Citizens will be able to pay their printing, courier, and NADRA verification fee at any NBP. The funds will be tracked through an automated system developed by PITB. A website http://www.dlims.punjab.gov.pk/ has also been established by PITB for users to log onto and check the originality of their license.
