MoIT&T and PITB Hold Meeting on ICT Initiatives Rolled Out for the Youth

An online meeting was chaired by Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoIT&T) Member IT Syed Junaid Imam to discuss the ongoing ICT initiatives rolled out by the Government of Punjab for the youth. He emphasized on skill development initiatives as a key focus of the government and the need to hold regular sessions to chalk out an implementation plan for next 3 -5 years. He also invited several stakeholders to give a brief introduction about ongoing initiatives.

PITB DG e-Governance Sajid Latif gave a detailed insight on the interventions executed by PITB to empower youth in the areas of digital skills, freelancing and entrepreneurship. He also gave a detailed presentation on e-Rozgaar and National Freelance Training Program that have collectively trained 60,000 youth to date. As per a recent sample report, the graduates of these programs have earned over PKR 4 Billion so far. Furthermore, he also discussed upcoming projects namely Digital Hunar 2.0, Youth Upskill Program, SheWins and e-Rozgaar Phase – II.

MoIT&T Member IT Syed Junaid Imam lauded PITB for its support and discussed the way forward. PITB JD Freelancing Wing Chaudhry Ahmed Islam was also present.
