Mr. Faisal Yousaf assumed the Additional Charge of Chairman Punjab IT Board on January 13, 2023. An industry veteran and a distinguished technocrat, his experience portfolio is as diverse as it is profound for its expansive footprint with a remarkable track record of deploying Information Technology in improving Governance. With over two decades of experience, he has honed his expertise in spearheading large-scale digital initiatives and harnessing innovation to drive socio-economic progress. He has been the driving force behind critical initiatives aimed at bridging the digital divide, promoting digital literacy, and creating a thriving tech ecosystem by promoting public-private partnership.
As Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), he has been pivotal in launching several flagship IT initiatives cutting across areas like Citizen Facilitation, Law & Order, Health and Education, making great use of the convergence on smartphones. He is also the driving force behind a key initiative that aims at unleashing the true organizational potential by reaching out to the world through strategic public-private partnerships, a major step towards collaborative engagement with tech leaders and entrepreneurs, both local & global, to jointly explore business opportunities.
Mr. Faisal Yousaf is also credited with many other cutting edge tech interventions for the Government of Punjab, some of which have also been successfully embraced by other provinces. As Director General PITB, he spearheaded the digitization of the back office and front end service delivery for multiple government departments. His crowning achievements included the conception & execution of the flagship fintech initiative, e-Pay Punjab, province's first payment aggregator, launched to digitize the province’s financial ecosystem and the development & deployment of the landmark ‘Case Flow Management System’ in all the 1682 District Courts across Punjab. He also oversaw the extremely challenging integration of the various arms of Law & Order including Police, Prosecution, Prisons, Probation & Parole and District Courts.
