Focus Group | Incorporating ICT Education in Schools & Colleges

In our efforts to devise a complete ICT Policy for Punjab, with much contribution from the concerned sectors, we arranged a focus group on "Incorporation of ICT Education in Schools and Colleges". Present among the attendees were representatives from Public & Private Schools as well as notable personalities from the govt. departments.

From Punjab Higher Education Department, Mr. Khurram Jehanzeb, Chief Operating Officer attended. From Schools Education Department of Punjab, Mr. Imran Baloch, Special Secretary School Curriculum, was among the notable attendees. The IT industry was represented by Mr, Jazib Zahir, CMO Tintash , Mr. Nevil Patel, VP at i2c Inc. and Mr. Ali Gohar from Systems Limited. In the discussion representatives from Aitchison College, Lahore, Beaconhouse, City School & Care Foundation Pakistan were present. From PITB, Mr. Kashif Farooq from eLearn.Punjab was also present. The discussion was moderated by Mr. Yaqoob Bangash, Director Policy & Governance Information Technology University - ITU, assisted by Ms. Mehak Jamal, Asst. Program Manager #TechHubConnect. During the focus group Dr. Umar Saif , Chairman PITB, emphasised on the importance of a well devised ICT Policy for Punjab. He appreciated the contribution of the stakeholders in helping in compiling the policy document. The 2 hour long intense discussion ended with a clear understanding of how ICT education can help benefit the students and how can we incorporate it into our school & college systems.
